Community Guidelines

Behavioral standards for all TheSHFTApp platform participants.

1. Introduction

TheSHFTApp is a professional career and workforce platform built to help job seekers, workers, recruiters, and employers connect, grow, and succeed. These Community Guidelines set behavioral standards for all Platform participants to ensure a respectful, authentic, and effective environment.

These Guidelines supplement and are incorporated into the Terms of Use and Acceptable Use Policy. All capitalized terms have the meanings defined in the Master Definitions.


2. Core Values

The TheSHFTApp community is built on:

  • Authenticity: Be genuine in your profile, communications, and credentials
  • Respect: Treat all platform participants with professionalism and dignity
  • Fairness: Compete for opportunities on the merits of real skills and experience
  • Integrity: Honor your commitments to employers, candidates, and fellow users
  • Purpose: Use the Platform for its intended career and workforce purpose

3. For All Users

3.1 Be Honest and Accurate

  • Represent your identity, qualifications, experience, and credentials truthfully
  • Do not fabricate work history, certifications, educational credentials, or references
  • Do not misrepresent your relationship to a company, role, or employer
  • Ensure AI-assisted content you submit accurately reflects your actual background

3.2 Be Professional

  • Communicate with other users professionally and respectfully
  • Do not engage in personal attacks, insults, or hostile communication
  • Avoid unsolicited or excessive contact with other users
  • Represent yourself and your professional brand with integrity

3.3 Protect Others' Privacy

  • Do not share other users' personal or private information without their consent
  • Do not screen capture and distribute private conversations or profile data
  • Do not use contact information obtained through the Platform to contact individuals outside the Platform for unrelated purposes

3.4 Use the Platform for Its Intended Purpose

  • Use the Services for career development, job searching, recruiting, workforce activities, and related business purposes
  • Do not use the Platform to promote unrelated businesses, spam, or solicit unrelated products or services
  • Do not misuse AI tools for purposes unrelated to career and workforce activities

4. For Candidates and Job Seekers

  • Be honest and accurate in all application materials, including AI-assisted resumes and cover letters
  • Do not apply for positions you are not legally authorized to hold
  • Do not create multiple Accounts to circumvent application limits or restrictions
  • Respond to recruiters and employers in good faith
  • Honor commitments made during the hiring process; notify parties promptly if your plans change
  • Do not use the Platform to collect employer or job listing data for resale or competing purposes

5. For Employers

  • Post accurate, complete, and legitimate job listings only
  • Clearly represent the nature of the work, compensation, and requirements
  • Do not post listings for positions that do not actually exist or that are used solely to collect candidate data
  • Evaluate candidates on relevant qualifications; do not engage in discriminatory screening
  • Respond to candidates in a timely and professional manner
  • Use candidate data only for the purposes authorized by the Platform and your agreement with TheSHFTApp
  • Comply with all applicable employment laws, including anti-discrimination statutes and wage laws

6. For Recruiters

  • Represent opportunities accurately and in good faith
  • Do not make misrepresentations about job requirements, compensation, or employer identity
  • Obtain appropriate consent before sharing candidate information
  • Do not engage in "candidate poaching" or other conduct that violates professional standards
  • Honor confidentiality obligations regarding employer and candidate information

7. Prohibited Community Behaviors

The following behaviors are prohibited and may result in account suspension or termination:

  • Spam, mass messaging, or unsolicited solicitations
  • Fake reviews, fake endorsements, or manufactured social proof
  • Coordinated inauthentic behavior, including fake accounts or bot-driven engagement
  • Collecting user information for the purpose of data brokering or resale
  • Using the Platform as a channel for pyramid schemes, multi-level marketing, or fraudulent investment solicitation
  • Creating a hostile, discriminatory, or harassing environment for any user
  • Attempting to defraud employers, candidates, or TheSHFTApp through any means

8. Content Standards

Content posted or transmitted through the Platform must:

  • Be accurate and not intentionally misleading
  • Respect others' privacy and intellectual property
  • Not be obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit, or exploitative
  • Not promote violence, hatred, or discrimination
  • Not contain malware, harmful links, or malicious code
  • Comply with all applicable laws

9. Reporting and Enforcement

9.1 Reporting. If you observe a violation of these Guidelines, please report it to support@theshftapp.com. Reports may be made anonymously.

9.2 Our Response. We investigate reports in good faith and take appropriate action, which may include issuing warnings, removing content, suspending accounts, or referring matters to law enforcement.

9.3 Appeals. If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal by contacting legal@theshftapp.com with a detailed explanation.


10. Updates

These Guidelines will be updated as the Platform and community evolve. Continued use of the Platform after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Guidelines.
