1. Introduction
These Browser Extension Terms ("Extension Terms") govern your installation and use of any TheSHFTApp browser extension, add-on, or plugin ("Extension") made available for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari, or other browsers.
These Terms supplement the Terms of Use. By installing or using an Extension, you agree to these Extension Terms.
2. Extension Functionality
Extensions may provide features including, without limitation:
- Auto-detection of job listings on third-party websites
- One-click activation of Smart Apply on supported job sites
- Career profile data injection into application forms
- Resume and cover letter quick-access overlay
- Application tracking integration
- AI-powered application assistance on supported platforms
- Notifications and alerts for saved searches or matches
The specific features available in each Extension are described in the Extension's listing in the applicable browser extension store.
3. Permissions
3.1 Requested Permissions. Extensions request browser permissions necessary to deliver their functionality. The permissions requested and their purposes are disclosed at installation and in the Extension's privacy disclosure in the extension store.
3.2 Purpose Limitation. Permissions are used only for delivering Extension functionality as disclosed. TheSHFTApp does not use Extension permissions to capture or transmit data unrelated to Extension functionality.
3.3 Active Tab Access. Extensions that require access to the active browser tab use that access only when the Extension is actively being used on a supported website and only to deliver the functionality you trigger.
4. Data Collection by Extensions
Extensions may collect:
- URLs of pages where you activate Extension features
- Form field data on job application pages (to assist with auto-fill)
- Session tokens for Platform authentication
- Basic Device Information for security and compatibility purposes
Data collected by Extensions is handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy. Extensions do not capture keystrokes, passwords, banking information, or content on pages where the Extension is not actively invoked.
5. Third-Party Websites
5.1 Not Affiliated. TheSHFTApp Extensions operate on third-party websites (job boards, employer sites) but are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or authorized by those websites unless expressly stated.
5.2 Compliance with Third-Party Terms. You remain responsible for ensuring your use of the Extension on third-party websites complies with those websites' terms of service.
5.3 No Guarantee of Compatibility. TheSHFTApp does not guarantee that the Extension will function on any specific third-party website. Third-party website changes may break Extension functionality.
6. Extension Updates
TheSHFTApp may update Extensions automatically through the browser extension store. Updates may add, modify, or remove features. Significant changes to data collection practices will be disclosed through an updated privacy notice and, where required, fresh consent.
7. Uninstallation
You may uninstall Extensions at any time through your browser's extension management settings. Uninstalling an Extension removes it from your browser but does not delete Platform Account data. Account data deletion is governed by the Privacy Policy and Data Retention and Deletion Policy.
8. Availability
Extensions may be discontinued, removed from extension stores, or made unavailable in certain jurisdictions at any time. TheSHFTApp is not responsible for any impacts resulting from Extension unavailability.
9. Platform Store Rules
Extensions are subject to the policies of the applicable browser extension store (e.g., Chrome Web Store, Firefox Add-Ons). TheSHFTApp does not control store availability, review decisions, or distribution.
10. Disclaimer
EXTENSIONS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS." THESHFTAPP DOES NOT WARRANT THAT EXTENSIONS WILL FUNCTION ON ANY SPECIFIC WEBSITE, BROWSER VERSION, OR OPERATING SYSTEM CONFIGURATION.
