1. Introduction
These API Terms ("API Terms") govern access to and use of the TheSHFTApp Application Programming Interface ("API") and all associated developer tools, SDKs, documentation, and services ("API Services") provided by TheSHFTApp LLC ("TheSHFTApp," "we," "us," or "our").
By accessing the API, you agree to these API Terms, which supplement the Terms of Use. In the event of a conflict, these API Terms control with respect to API access.
2. API Access
2.1 Registration Required. API access requires registration for developer credentials including API keys. You must provide accurate contact and organization information.
2.2 API Keys. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API keys. You may not share, publish, or expose API keys in client-side code, public repositories, or other insecure channels.
2.3 Authorization Scope. API access is limited to the endpoints and data scopes authorized for your API key. Attempting to access unauthorized endpoints is a violation of these Terms.
2.4 Enterprise API. Enterprise-grade API access with higher rate limits, dedicated endpoints, or custom integrations may require an Enterprise Agreement.
3. Permitted Uses
You may use the API to:
- Build integrations between TheSHFTApp and authorized third-party software;
- Access Platform data associated with your Account or Business Customer account, within authorized scopes;
- Automate workflows within your organization's use of the Platform;
- Build applications and tools that enhance user experience with the Platform; and
- Process Platform data for authorized analytical or business purposes within the scope of your agreement.
4. Prohibited Uses
You may not use the API to:
- Scrape, harvest, or export Platform data beyond what is necessary for authorized use cases;
- Build products that compete directly with TheSHFTApp;
- Resell or sublicense API access to third parties without written permission;
- Use API access to circumvent Platform features, paywalls, or access controls;
- Reverse engineer the API to extract proprietary algorithms, prompts, or system design;
- Use the API in a manner that could damage, overload, or impair Platform infrastructure;
- Use API access for unauthorized mass data extraction or aggregation; or
- Transmit malicious code through the API.
5. Rate Limits and Usage
5.1 Rate Limits. API access is subject to rate limits as specified in the API documentation. Rate limits may be adjusted at any time.
5.2 Fair Use. You agree to use the API responsibly and within your authorized usage tier. Excessive or abusive usage may result in throttling or suspension.
5.3 Usage Monitoring. TheSHFTApp monitors API usage for compliance, security, and performance purposes.
6. Data and Privacy
6.1 Data Accessed. API integrations may access Personal Information and User Data. You are responsible for handling such data in compliance with applicable privacy laws and the TheSHFTApp Privacy Policy.
6.2 User Consent. Before using the API to access user data, ensure appropriate user consent has been obtained consistent with the applicable privacy requirements.
6.3 DPA. If you process Personal Information of EU, UK, or California residents through the API, you may be required to execute a Data Processing Addendum.
7. Intellectual Property
TheSHFTApp retains all Intellectual Property Rights in the API, documentation, and any content accessed through the API. These API Terms do not transfer any ownership rights.
8. Availability
TheSHFTApp does not warrant that the API will be available at any specific uptime level. We may modify, deprecate, or discontinue API endpoints with reasonable advance notice.
9. Termination
TheSHFTApp may revoke API access immediately for violation of these Terms, the Terms of Use, or the Acceptable Use Policy. We may also suspend access for security, legal, or operational reasons.
10. Disclaimer
THE API IS PROVIDED "AS IS." THESHFTAPP MAKES NO WARRANTIES REGARDING API AVAILABILITY, ACCURACY, OR FITNESS FOR ANY PURPOSE.
