1. Purpose

This AI Disclosure explains how TheSHFTApp LLC ("TheSHFTApp," "we," "us," or "our") uses artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies within the Platform and Services. It is intended to provide transparency about the role of AI in your experience and to set accurate expectations about AI capabilities and limitations.

This Disclosure should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, Responsible AI Policy, Terms of Use, and Acceptable Use Policy.


2. Where We Use AI

AI Systems are integrated throughout the Platform to power the following features and functions:

(a) Worker Discovery: AI analyzes your questionnaire responses, work history, and preferences to identify career paths, workforce opportunities, and employment matches.

(b) Career Intelligence Profile: AI generates a personalized career profile based on your inputs, professional history, skills, and platform activity.

(c) ATS Resume Scanner: AI analyzes your Resume against job descriptions and ATS scoring patterns to provide optimization suggestions.

(d) Resume Builder: AI assists in drafting, formatting, and enhancing resumes based on your Professional Information.

(e) Cover Letter Generator: AI generates personalized cover letters tailored to specific job listings and your background.

(f) Interview Preparation: AI generates practice questions, suggested answers, and coaching feedback for job interviews.

(g) Answer Vault Suggestions: AI may suggest previously saved answers or generate new responses to job application questions.

(h) Career Roadmap: AI constructs personalized career development plans, milestone recommendations, and skill gap analyses.

(i) Smart Apply: AI assists in completing, populating, and submitting job applications based on your authorized data and profile.

(j) AI Career Coach: Conversational AI provides career guidance, job search advice, and professional development support.

(k) Candidate Matching: AI matches Candidate profiles to job opportunities, employer requirements, and recruiter criteria.

(l) Analytics and Insights: AI generates aggregated workforce analytics, platform performance metrics, and employer hiring intelligence.

(m) Safety and Fraud Detection: AI assists in detecting abuse, fraud, policy violations, and Security Incidents.

(n) Future Features: AI may be integrated into additional features as the Platform evolves.


3. Types of AI Technology Used

The Platform uses or may use the following types of AI technology:

  • Large language models (LLMs) for text generation and analysis
  • Natural language processing (NLP) for understanding and classifying text
  • Machine learning models for scoring, ranking, and recommendation
  • Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) for context-aware AI responses
  • Semantic embeddings and vector search for similarity and matching
  • Automated pipeline AI for resume parsing and ATS analysis
  • Generative AI for content creation
  • Classification and filtering models for safety and abuse detection

TheSHFTApp uses AI models operated internally and from third-party providers. Third-party AI models may include, without limitation, models from providers such as Google (Gemini), Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (GPT), and others. The specific models in use may change as the Platform evolves.


4. What AI Does and Does Not Do

4.1 What AI Does

  • Generates suggested text for resumes, cover letters, application answers, and career guidance
  • Analyzes job descriptions and profile data to generate recommendations
  • Matches candidates to opportunities based on skills, preferences, and employer requirements
  • Provides real-time coaching and conversational career support
  • Identifies patterns in your career data to suggest next steps

4.2 What AI Does Not Do

  • Make final hiring decisions (all hiring decisions are made by human employers)
  • Guarantee employment, placement, interview offers, or any career outcome
  • Provide legal, financial, immigration, or tax advice
  • Replace professional career counseling, therapy, or human judgment
  • Guarantee that AI Output is free from errors, bias, or hallucinations
  • Guarantee ATS compatibility, scoring, or performance on any specific employer system

5. AI Limitations and Important Disclosures

5.1 AI Outputs May Be Inaccurate. AI Systems can produce text, recommendations, and analysis that is incorrect, outdated, biased, or fabricated. This is a known characteristic of AI technology. You should not rely on AI Output without independent review and verification.

5.2 Hallucinations. Large language models may generate responses that appear plausible but are factually incorrect or fabricated ("hallucinations"). Always verify AI-generated factual claims before using them in job applications or professional communications.

5.3 No ATS Performance Guarantee. While our ATS Resume Scanner provides optimization suggestions based on available information, we cannot guarantee that your resume will achieve any specific score, pass rate, or outcome on any particular employer ATS system. ATS systems vary in proprietary configuration.

5.4 AI Is Not a Career Counselor. The AI Career Coach and career recommendations are informational tools. They do not constitute licensed career counseling, professional advice, or any professional service regulated by applicable law.

5.5 Bias Awareness. AI models may reflect biases present in training data. TheSHFTApp takes steps to identify and mitigate bias through our Responsible AI practices, but we cannot guarantee that AI Outputs are free from all forms of bias.

5.6 Third-Party AI Models. AI Outputs generated using third-party model providers are subject to those providers' capabilities and limitations. TheSHFTApp is not responsible for the accuracy or completeness of outputs from third-party models.

5.7 AI Is Assistive, Not Authoritative. AI features are designed to assist and augment your career activities, not to serve as the sole basis for career decisions. You retain full responsibility for reviewing, approving, and taking ownership of materials generated with AI assistance.


6. Your Responsibilities

6.1 Review All AI Output. Before using any AI Output โ€” including submitting AI-generated resumes, cover letters, or application answers โ€” you must review and verify the content for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness.

6.2 Represent Yourself Truthfully. You are solely responsible for ensuring that all application materials submitted to employers or job boards, including AI-assisted materials, are accurate and represent your actual qualifications, experience, and credentials.

6.3 Comply with Third-Party Rules. The use of AI-assisted applications may be subject to restrictions under third-party job board or employer terms of service. You are responsible for understanding and complying with applicable third-party rules.

6.4 Report AI Errors. If you observe an AI Output that is harmful, biased, inaccurate, or inappropriate, please report it to support@theshftapp.com so we can investigate and improve our systems.


7. Data Used by AI Systems

AI Systems on the Platform process your AI Inputs, Resume Data, Professional Information, Worker Discovery responses, Career Intelligence Profile data, Answer Vault content, and related User Data. See our Privacy Policy, specifically Section 5 (AI Systems and Your Data), for full details on how your data is handled in connection with AI features.


8. Human Oversight

We conduct human review of AI outputs and AI system behavior as part of our quality assurance, safety monitoring, and responsible AI practices. Human oversight does not guarantee that every AI Output you receive has been individually reviewed by a human.


9. Future AI Development

TheSHFTApp is continuously developing new AI features, integrating new AI models, and improving existing AI systems. This Disclosure will be updated as material changes are made. We are committed to transparency about how AI technology evolves within the Platform.
